Pride in My Street

In 2026, we will be repeating our successful scheme from last year, called Pride in My Street.

Congratulations to Risbygate/Out Risbygate Streets for being awarded the prize in 2025.

Banners and posters will be going up all around town in the coming weeks with all the details of how you can take part. Download your poster here.

In past years, it became very clear that visiting every house in town was becoming increasingly challenging. Some streets or properties were being missed, there were suggestions of inconsistency with the marking scheme and that some residents might perhaps not be following the spirit of the scheme.

Now, Pride in My Street will encourage everyone along their street to participate in enhancing the area in which they live. It will encourage weeding, adding planters, litter picking, sign cleaning, adding wildlife corridors etc. Then photos will be submitted via email to enter the scheme with a chance to win a share of £1,000 for the best or most improved street in the form of Our Bury St Edmunds Gift Cards and shared equally between every house in the street. This will keep all prize money within our town and encourage community engagement.
