WE NEED YOU!

We want to hear about any community projects you are planning, or would like to get started. It could be groups of neighbours wanting to improve communal areas by planting flowers or shrubs. Or simply a grot-spot someone has noticed that needs a bit of TLC. Bury in Bloom can advise on how to get started to improve your ‘green’ environment, and, if it’s needed, how to get some funds together to make it all work.

Or you might like to become a ‘Friend of Bury in Bloom’. There are all sorts of things you can do to get involved – helping get the judging route looking spick and span and weed-free just before the Anglia in Bloom judges tour the town in July; dead-heading the flowers in the Abbey Gardens; bringing your own special area of expertise to the Bury in Bloom Executive; taking photographs of especially stunning floral displays you notice or help with the admin of the campaign.

And we mustn’t forget the best way of all for the whole Bury St Edmunds community to get involved – by entering the Green Fingers Competition! This year the competition is being run through the East Anglian Daily Times and Bury St Edmunds Mercury newspapers, so watch out for details.
